Location and environment of Maucatar, Timor Leste
Maucatar is a remote mountainous subdistrict of the Timor-Leste district of Cova Lima south west of Suai.
The area has very poor socio-economic conditions, extremely low income, little or no education, malnutrition, high mortality rates especially high maternal deaths of both mothers and babies, lack of water and sanitation and poor roads and infrastructure.
